- The UNOPS Peace and Security Cluster invites interested and eligible National and International not-for-profit Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) in Somalia to apply for a Call for Proposal ("CFP") for the grant project: Humanitarian mine action to promote peace and safety in Somalia through the provision of non-technical survey and explosive ordnance risk education in Galmudug State, and capacity development for Somali mine action authorities.The objective of the project is to mitigating the threat posed by explosive ordnance and contributing to the safety and security of civilian populations in Galmudug State, through the provision of non-technical survey (NTS) and explosive ordnance risk education (EORE). Further, it will support the Somali Explosive Management Authority (SEMA) at the federal level in Mogadishu and throughout the five Federal Member States (FMS) - Jubaland, Southwest, Hirshabelle, Galmudug and Puntland, to develop its institutional and technical capability to effectively coordinate humanitarian mine action interventions in the country.Impact:Somalis are safer and more secure as a result of the increased ability of Somali national authorities and security servi...
