Description : KISMAYO BAIDOA URBAN WATER SUPPLY AND SANITATION PROJECT
The Federal Government of Somalia has received a grant from the African Development Fund to finance the Kismayo Baidoa Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Project.
The overall project objective is to contribute to improved quality of life, inclusiveness and resilience through the provision of sustainable water supply and sanitation services.
The project outcomes are:
Improved access to water and sanitation services for the urban population in Kismayo and Baidoa
Improved management, planning and Development capacity of water and sanitation sector within Ministry of Energy and Water Resources
Increased direct employment opportunities
The procurement will be carried out in line with Procurement Methods and Procedures of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The project includes the following components:
Water Supply and Sanitation Infrastructure
This includes the following activities:
Water Resources assessment study for Kismayo town.
Design and Supervision of water supply systems in Kismayo and Baidoa
Construction of new/rehabilitation of priority Baidoa and Kismayo water supply infrastructure
Groundwater monitoring system for strategic boreholes in Baidoa
Construction of schools/ markets and health institutions sanitation facilities including rain water harvesting systems
Hygiene and Sanitation promotion
Environmental mitigation measures (tree nurseries, conservation measures et... - Documents :
